CITRANGEQUAT
Notes on the Kumquats. By Joseph W. Stephenson. 1971 #1, pp 2-5
CITROFORTUNELLA MITIS - Calamondin, China Orange, Golden Lime
Native to China.

Citrange - Citrus sinensis Ã- Poncirus trifoliata
Shikwasa, Hirami lemon - Citrus Ã- depressa
Kaffir lime - Citrus x hystrix
Musk Lime - Ã-Citrofortunella mitis
Persian lime - Citrus x latifolia
Rangpur lime - Citrus x limonia ...

The citrange (X Citroncirus webberi) is a cross between the sweet orange and the trifoliate orange. Perhaps the most cold-hardy citrus yet is the 'Thomasville' citrangequat, a cross between the citrange and the nagami kumquat, and hardy to about 0F.

Since it is much hardier than Citrus -- taking frost down to 5º F -- hybridizers graft orange and lemon cuttings onto Poncirus to produce hardy "citranges".

Citrange [English]: Citroncirus webberi
Citraphalah [Sanskrit]: Bryonia laciniosa
Citraria [Spanish]: Melissa officinalis
Citraria [Spanish]: Melissa officinalis var. Lime
Citrón [Czech]: Citrus limon
Citrón [Slovak]: Citrus limon ...
