Usage
Grow Jackman and other hybrid clematis on a trellis, wall or fence. Let it scramble over a rock wall or twine over an arbor.
Clematis likes full sun, and moist, fertile, well drained soil. Space plants 24"-36" apart. The roots are shallow, and should be shaded by growing other flowers around the base of the vine.
Clematis, queen of vines, are divided into 3 categories: Early Flowering, Late Flowering and Repeat Bloomers. Pruning can be confusing, but you'll find guidelines here.
Clematis pitcheri has somewhat similar flowers but the leaflets are prominently veined and the tails of the seeds are not plumose all the way to the tip.
