Small clusters of flowers and opposite, smooth flowers on braching winter annual weed. Lower leaves have hairy long petiole. Weed common to most of North America. Seed reproduction.

There are several species of chickweed, including those in the genus Cerastium, in our area. Some are native and some naturalized.

Look for this common Chickweed along trails through open Spruce forests. What you will notice first are the bright white flowers.
