Cornus Ruth Ellen® P.P. 7732 (‘Rutlan'): Low and spreading, not upright as a young C. kousa. Brilliant white, showy floral bracts. Original plant at 19 years old, 18 ft tall x 22 ft wide, densely branched to the ground.

Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas) is not a cherry at all but a kind of dogwood. Though we seldom see it in Arkansas gardens, it grows well here and makes a good show because the competition is scarce in February.
