Fairy Primrose, Baby Primrose
A long-time favorite, these miniature floral bouquets in a rainbow of colors are signs of spring. Excellent for bedding, edging and containers, they are especially effective with spring blooming bulbs.
Fairy primrose (P. malacoides) has star-shaped flowers on tall stems.

malacoides (Fairy Primrose). This delightful little plant features white, pink, purple or red fragrant flowers arising on stalks. This is a relatively long-blooming primrose.
P. obconica (Poison Primrose).
Mass Begonias, Geraniums and Fairy Primroses with Busy Lizzies, or mix Polka-Dot Plants in all their colourful leaf shades. Arrange them in a low basket on a coffee table or display in a fireplace to great effect.
Most primroses bloom in spring or summer, but English primrose (as well as fairy primroses and Chinese primroses) are also excellent choices for winter color.

Fairy Primrose (Primula malacoides) (zones 8-10) produces small leaves on long stalks and numerous foot tall stalks of flowers.
German Primrose (primula obconica) (zones 8-10) is a large, 12 inch tall plant with 10 inch round leaves.
