Ferns are non-flowering vascular plants with rhizomes that were plentiful during the Mesozoic Era and usually live in warm, moist areas. Ferns have fronds divided into leaflets.

Fern spore germinated on peat-based medium; keep moist, covered, in good indirect light. Keep covered until seedlings developing well. Multiply also by clump division. Likes constant, not excessive moisture, some shade.

How do I harvest cycad pups & when ?

When the fern-like foliage turns brown in the fall, do nothing. It won't hurt the plant. In fact, leaving the foliage may minimize spring cold damage to developing spears.

This tree fern is similar in appearance to Dicksonia. A distinguishing feature is that the spore-bearing organs under the leaflets are closer to the midrib rather than being closer to the leaf margin as with Dicksonia.
