Geranium phaeum 'Alex's Pink'
This is a quite beautiful new cultivar with deep mauve flowers.
Discovered by Alec Anderson, Member of Herts & Beds. N.C.C.P.G. Group in England it was an LW Plants introduction in 2004.
Geranium phaeum ssp phaeum "Samobor" (about a fifth of the time misspelled "Samobar") has two outstanding features. First is the leaves, each scallop having a cherry-black dot when the leaves emerge, aging into a large purple marking.

Early summer brings the flowers, which can be combined with hardy geraniums, especially Geranium phaeum, with blooms of a rich purple.
