Green onions are easy to grow from sets. Sets are small onion bulbs. Plant the onion sets in late March or early April.

Green onions are used fresh in green salads, pasta salads, and potato salads, or cooked in dishes requiring a mild onion flavor. Although green onions are generally eaten raw, they can also be grilled, sautéed, or used in stir-fries.
