Jubaea
Jubaea is another monotypic genus of palm, this one is native to a small area of low forests and adjacent savannahs in central Chile at the base of the Andes. Jubaea is like most plants from Chile in that it detests hot, humid weather.

spectabilis (Jubaea)
A handsome, hardy S. American palm, with a short, tree-like stem, which sometimes attains a great height, and pinnate leaves of a deep green color and from 6 feet to 12 feet long.
Jubaea chilensis (Chilean wine palm): Hardy to about -14°C (7°F), but it will not tolerate cold, windy situations. In mild areas, it can develop an erect trunk to about 5m (16ft) but is very slow growing.
