KUDZU
Kudzu is a type of legume, a flowering plant that bears its protein-rich seeds in pods and can fix nitrogen from the soil (due to the symbiotic root bacteria rhizobia). Its tubers are edible and the fiber is useful.

Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) is a non-toxic edible vine that scrambles extensively over lower vegetation or grows high into trees. Kudzu is an invasive species in the southern United States.

Anyway, you can find T.f. in roadside ditches almost everywhere. It, like many other introduced "exotics" have become weedy nuisances like kudzu, autumn olive, multiflora rose, japanese honeysuckle, etc.

Carolina Jessamine is found from Virginia to Texas to Florida, usually in a bright spot at wood's edge or in a clearing, but it can also be seen climbing a fence or tree in an open field where the Kudzu hasn't yet taken over.
