Lamium would be my suggestion - especially the pink ones - they do spread and you will have a sea of pink on top of the white/green leaves - they last for quit a while and then will rebloom in the season.

Lamium purpureum
Purple deadnettle leaves are often tinted with purple. It's debatable whether this plant should be considered a Connecticut wildflower, since it grows mostly in ground disturbed by humans, not in wild areas.

This patch of "White Nancy" Lamium, or Spotted Dead Nettle, is a cultivar of Lamium maculatum which is native of Europe & North America.

The ornamental Lamiums go under the common name of Spotted Dead Nettles because the leaves are usually blotched with silver and they somewhat resemble the wild nettles. Among the ornamentals is L.

Unlike deadnettles (Lamium), stinging nettles (Urtica) have stinging hairs that make them quickly apparent to the gardener when weeding.
