Lychnis coronaria
( Angel's Blush Catchfly )
This is a biennial or short-lived perennial known for exceptional hardiness, tolerant of poor soils and little water. Foliage is wooly, silvery-gray. Ovate-lance-shaped leaves up to 7 inches long.
Lychnis coronaria can be grown as a cut flower. Harvest the stems when one or two flowers are open, or pull the entire plant and strip the foliage off. The flowers will last between five to seven days in a vase.

Rose Campion (Lychnis coronaria) is an evergreen biennial in our low-maintenance roadside sungarden. The genus name means "Lamp" & alludes to the ancient use of the felt-like leaves as lamp wicks.
