'Golden Trophy' is an heirloom variety of indeterminate tomato. The plants are upright with a bushy habit, but need staking. The tomatoes are heavily ribbed, with distinct scarring on the flower end.

Tomatoes used to be classified under the botanical name Lycopersicon esculentum. Research has provided evidence showing that tomatoes should be classified under the genus Solanum, which is where they now reside as Solanum lycopersicum.

In flavor it is subacid and is generally considered to resemble the garden tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). The fruit is most commonly stewed to form a conserve.
