Manna is sometimes used as a pill excipient, especially for calomel.
Under the name of Dulcinol, a mixture of Manna and common salt has been recommended by Steinberg in 1906 as a sweetening agent in diabetes, the dose 1/2 to 1 OZ.

This aquatic lobelia is a partly submerged perennial bearing a mat of rosettes, oblong, deep green leaves. Pale blue to pale violet flowers are borne of racemes above the water summer to fall.

Fraxinus Ornus - The celebrated Manna Ash, a native of the East and Mediterranean regions, which has several varieties. It is an effective and hardy tree in England, and even in London gardens is vigorous and handsome.

In English it is called "bamboo manna". This concretion is said to be a tonic for the respiratory diseases. It was earlier obtained from Melocanna bambusoides and is very hard to get.

Distribution
Confined to the floodplains of the Murray River tributaries of central-western and south-western NSW, with localities including Manna State Forest, Matong, Lake Tooim, Merran Creek, Tulla, Cunninyeuk and Mairjimmy State Forest.

Im Mittelmeergebiet läßt sich der Korianderanbau bis ins alte Ägypten zurückverfolgen; Koriander wird auch im Alten Testament erwähnt und mit Manna verglichen (siehe Granatapfel).
