This plant, really a subshrub, has delicate blue-green foliage. The long slender leaves are needle thin, borne profusely to make a hazy, yet elegant, mound of foliage.

Felicia amelloides is a shrubby perrenial or annual depending upon climate. It is a member of the daisy family, native to South Africa with blue daisy flowers, over 1 inch wide with yellow centers.

The worst-case scenario for Blue Marguerite in such temperate areas as ours is it does exceptionally well the year it is planted, but functionally has to be regarded as an annual.

The white daisy is one of the plants named marguerite, but the usual marguerite in cultivation is C. frutescens, a bushy perennial with white or lemon-yellow flowers, native to the Canary Islands and called also Paris daisy.

Ipomoea batatas 'Ace of Spades' is similar to ‘Marguerite' in growth habit with black heart shaped leaves, and doesn't grow as fast as ‘Blackie'.

Argyranthemum frutescens, the marguerite and marguerite daisy, is a perennial forb known for its flowers. It is native to the Canary Islands in Macaronesia.

Single-flowered types ('Single Marguerite', 'Single California Giant') look like multicolored daisies. Other China asters resemble pompons ('Giant Princess', 'Powderpuff') or peonies ('Opus').
