Milla - The bulbous plants formerly known under this name are now described under the name of Brodiaea. The only true Milla is said to be M. biflora, a beautiful plant with large snow-white blossoms deliciously scented.

Parthenogenesis, or the development of an embryo from an egg-cell without the latter having been fertilized has been described in species of Thalictrum, Antennaria and Alchemilla.

The dieffenbachia is a beautiful, if sometimes confusing, group of plants. These plants feature pointed, broad leaves in a variety of combinations of green and white.

Surprisingly perhaps, many of the most popular materials for cutting, such as alchemilla, are native plants. Of recent years the wild arum has been found a place in many a strange suburban plot; this is the ‘lords and ladies' of the hedgerows.

A good example of a heat hardiness discrepancy is lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris), a perennial featured in English gardening books. Due to our summer climate in Raleigh, NC, it is virtually impossible to grow this plant in the south.

In my Chicagoland garden, the irrigation system has been strategically placed to heighten this effect (which works quite well with Lady's mantle Alchemilla mollis, as well).

My current one is a Camilla (from what I've found online tonight) - the others have all had the dark green leaves with the yellow/green centers (don't know what they were called) and this one is yellow/green with dark green edges.
