The botanical name Murraya koenigii refers to two 18.th century botanists: the Swede Johann Andreas Murray (1740-1791) and the German Johann Gerhard König (1728-1785).

Small leaves are rich in an essential oil and are source of the spice. The commonly used spice curry patta is traditionally consumed by diabetics in southern part of India.

Sweetly fragrant clusters of 1/2" citrus-like blooms are borne throughout summer. An upright to rounded shrub with rich glossy foliage and is acceptable to pruning. Can be become a large tree if given plenty of room and time.

I found very little information about Lakeview Jasmine Murraya paniculata myself, so I'm afraid that I can't be of much help. Lakeview jasmine is actually an outdoor plant which has been adapted to container growth.

Others are atro-purpurea, with deep purple spikes, and Murrayana, a dwarf plant, in which the flowers are a deep rose-crimson. S. oregana has smaller rosy flowers; S. incarnata, slender and rigid red spikes; while in S. spicata they are rosy-purple.
