Nodding Onion
Related to Onions, Garlic and Leeks, Ornamental Onions are grown for their dense clusters of flowers, which look like lollipops. Height varies from 6 inches to 5 feet. Use for rock gardens, naturalizing and flower borders.

Nodding Onion
Found on ledges, in dry meadows, gravel, rocky or wooded slopes, this delicate onion has gently nodding pink flowers in late spring. Beautiful in the garden or naturalized in a meadow.

Noteworthy characteristics: The most remarkable feature of the nodding onion is its adaptability. It will grow in almost any situation, from full sun to deep shade.
Care: Best grown in full sun and dry to medium, well-drained soil.

Nodding onion (A. cernuum)
White to light pink or rich amethyst flowers are suspended on 60-centimetre-tall stalks that curve at the tips in July and August. Garlic-flavoured, strap-like foliage can be used like garlic chives.
