Oak tree planting requires a little more soil preparation than with other trees, especially if you live in an urban or suburban environment. Oak trees thrive in specific soils.

Hatley says oak and grass pollen bothers many people, but it's probably cedar (Juniper) pollen that bothers the largest number of people in our area.
Additional Comments: The Oak was sacred to the Greeks, while the Romans dedicated it to Jupiter. It was venerated by the Druids. Galen applied the bruised leaves to wounds.

Wide-spreading, large-trunked Oaks are known for their long life, strength and majestic beauty. They have many forms, but are mostly deciduous trees and some shrubs. Some like wet soil, while others prefer dry.
Oak Trees is a broad genus which is native throughout the Northern hemisphere. Most species are growing as deciduous or evergreen trees and show very different leaf shapes and ornamental fruits wich are sometimes used for decoration purposes.

The Oak is noted for the slowness of its growth, as well as for the large size to which it attains.
The Oak tree grows in many different habitats. It can grow from seacoasts to high mountain slopes. It also can grow from wet lowlands to dry mesas. When the White oak is only a seedling it produces a taproot.

Cork oak leaves are gray underneath and toothed, and the acorns are not particularly bitter. The bark is very interesting.
White oak bark - Quercus alba (in the Fagaceae or Oak family) Note: other oaks can be used;

Taste/smell: Astringent.
Laurel oak is commonly found in floodplain forests and wet to dry hammocks throughout Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). It blooms in the spring.
The Water Oak is a broadly conical, deciduous tree with smooth brown then dark grey bark. Its dark green leaves are usually in a spoon shaped form then turning a yellowish brown color in the fall.
Blackjack Oak is an evergreen tree to 25m, found in the Himalayas. It is a large or medium sized tree, with leathery dull green leaves, sharply toothed leaves, 6-16 cm long. Leaves have dense white-woolly hairs on the underside.
PREVENTION: Oak toxicosis is easily preventable with proper livestock and pasture management.
Fast-growing oak with wavy-edged foliage and a rough, crinkled appearance. New growth in spring is red-bronze. Prefers neutral to acidic soil. This plant is low maintenance with little pruning required. Spring fertilization is recommended.

Buddleia indica or Indoor Oak is a small, compact, evergreen shrub native to Madagascar. The bushy plants will reach up to 18 inches (45 cm) tall with a spreading habit.
This species is characterized by its somewhat narrower or more columnar form in comparison to other oak species.
The name relates to the ancient Druids who met in forests' Oak groves and in particular beneath the old Oak trees. It is interesting to note that one etymology of the word Druid comes from "dru-wid", which means "knower of oak trees".[2] ...

Hydrangea comes from the Greek words hydor for water and aggos for jar, which refers to the cup-shaped fruit. The name for the species, quercifolia, comes from the Latin word quercus (pronounced KWER-kus) for oak.

Oak - Acorns of the white oak group generally have little or no dormancy and will germinate almost immediately after falling. These species should usually be planted in the fall.

Features
Live oak is a fast-growing, yet very long-lived tree. Its life is measured in centuries. The wood is very hard and strong.
Gambel Oak forms open stands in meadows and, as the next photograph show, it forms thick, almost impenetrable short scrub stands on canyon sides.
