Queen Palm
Only one type of these feather palms, the Queen Palm, is commonly grown. The straight trunk and 10- to 15-foot-long fronds that look like ostrich feathers give it a fluffy, graceful elegance.

Bismarck Palm is a massive tropical palm with a stout trunk and a symmetric huge crown. It grows a single trunk that is smooth on mature specimens but young individuals retain old leaf bases.

The sago palm, so named from a Polynesian word used to describe a group of true palms from which an edible starch is produced, is grown outdoors in zones 9 and 10 and survives freezes to about 20 degrees Farenheit.
