This tropical passionflower has stunning coral colored flowers and yellow stamens. A great addition to any sun to part shade garden. Prune out inner growth periodically to keep plant open and healthy.

Passionflowers and edible Passionfruits. All species can be easily grown in any humus-rich, well drained soil with sufficient moisture in summer. Plants require a climbing aid as these are growing as wines.

The passionflower vine isn't always fully evergreen in our zone, but some specimens are more winter-rugged than others, & we got lucky getting one that blooms until deep into autumn then loses hardly any leaves through winter.

Passionflowers and butterflies come together as a package deal. Passiflora species are the exclusive hosts for numerous species of Heliconian butterflies.

In India, blue passionflowers are called Krishnakamala in Karnataka and Maharashtra, while in UP and generally north it is colloquially called "Paanch Paandav".

When I lived in Hawaii I used to go hiking on trails where the passionflowers grew. Many species are naturalized in Hawaii and I can remember picking the fruits and making pies from them, although not the same species as P. caerulea.

Maracuja has strikingly beautiful, large white flowers with purple centers; those contributed to the name Passionflower as the outlook can be associated with the Crucifixion of Christ.

I don't know about the fancy hybrids, but the native passionflower (Here in Texas) either is eaten to the ground by caterpillers, or in years they don't show up, takes over EVERYTHING.
