Pearly Everlasting
Silvery white petals that make up the buttonlike flower heads and their woolly white or silvery leaves give these hardy perennials the common name of Pearl or Pearly Everlasting. Excellent fresh or dried flowers.

Western Pearly Everlasting

Synonym: Anaphalis margaritacea var. angustior, Anaphalis margaritacea var. intercedens, Anaphalis margaritacea var.

A common plant in disturbed areas, pearly everlasting is useful for the home garden. For my own, I plant this native for its dried cut flowers and as a nectar source for beneficial insects.

Pearly everlasting was often employed medicinally by native North American Indian tribes who used it in the treatment of a range of ailments[257]. It is little used in modern herbalism.

American Painted Lady - pussytoes, thistle, pearly everlasting

Pearly Everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea) (note that it is a different genus) also is very similar. It has wider flower heads that are almost pure white. It is a perennial. This plant is often used in dried flower arrangements.
