At times it attacks petunias and even scrophulariaceous plants, as Anthocersis and Schizanthus. As a rule, although there are a few exceptions, the disease occurs wherever the potato is grown.
Petunia-like flowers come in unusual shades -- cream, mahogany, brown -- as well as a wide spectrum from yellows, hot oranges and reds to cool violets and blues. Contrasting veins and marbled patterns accent the petals.
Field Marks: This wild petunia, with large, funnel-shaped lavender flowers, is densely hairy throughout.
