Rocket Larkspur
Habitat: Stratify seeds in refrigerator in airtight glass jar for three weeks prior to planting, if planting in spring, or plant in fall for winter stratification. Full sun to partial shade; well-drained soil. Sow to a depth of 1/8".

Ajacis (Rocket Larkspur) and D. Consolida. D. Ajacis has the flowers in long, loose spikes forming an erect and spreading panicle, the stem vigorous with open spreading branches.

The many varieties of Larkspur grown in flower gardens come form the European species Rocket Larkspur (D. ajacis) or Forking Larkspur (D. consolida). These have escaped cultivation in some areas.
