Usage
Rose-of-Sharon is most commonly used in mixed shrub borders, or in a group for its tall, upright shape and summer color. It also makes a fine stand alone specimen. In the landscape, the overall texture of rose-of-Sharon is coarse.

Thomas Jefferson grew the Rose-of-Sharon at all his homes. It remained one of the most popular ornamental shrubs in America throughout the Victorian Age & up to the second world war.

Description:
Bluebird Rose-of-Sharon, another attractive single-flowering cultivar, has medium-blue flowers with a red-lavendar eyezone (the lavendar shading of the blue petals is an artifact of photography without a blue filter).
