Hi I just got a rubber tree and don't know anything about them. I got it at a flee market and came w/ no. lit. Wondering some basics. Water light fertaliser(sp) and some more if possible.

Rubber Mulch Benefits

The India Rubber Vine originates from Madagascar and was formerly grown there and later in India to produce a poor quality rubber latex. Has large (2" across), showy, lilac flowers with a broad funnel-shaped tube and five spreading lobes.

For the smaller sizes, rubber brakes are sometimes used and, for the very smallest, the fingers either bare or protected by linen bands.

When the greens are first brought home, any rubber banding or ties should be removed to avoid damage. The damaged, discolored or wilted greens should be thrown away.

Wrap the stems with a rubberband. Hang the flowers upside down in a dry, airy, shaded place. They will take two to three weeks to dry. Strawflowers will grow three feet tall. Flowers come in red, yellow, orange, pink, white or purple colors.
