Rue (Ruta) - The common Rue (R. graveolens) is not ornamental, but R. albiflora is a graceful autumn-flowering plant about 2 feet high, with leaves resembling those of the common Rue, only more glaucous and finely divided.

Rue anemone, the only member of this genus, is a member of the Ranunculus family. It's widely distributed in the Eastern deciduous forest from East Texas to Minnesota and all points east.

Similar Species: False Rue Anemone (Isopyrum biternatum) usually has five parts to the flower and the leaflets of the three part leaves are truly lobed into three lobes, not just notched.

Rue is a small genus with usually perennials or woody shrubs native of the Mediterranean region, Macaronesian islands and southwestern Asia.

Tall meadow rue flowers don't have any petals; the white starbursts are made up of stamens. The plant has delicate, finely divided leaves.

Alpine Meadow Rue is a small perennial herb with mostly simple and nearly leafless stems that are 3-18 cm tall, arising from slender rhizomes.

I have one shrub of Rue transplanted from the old garden. It is like an old friend, however, it behaves much better.

The only member of its genus, rue anemone is a tuberous perennial native to the woodlands of eastern North America.

An essential oil obtained from the leaves has similar properties to rue, Ruta graveolens[154]. The yield is about 0.4%[154]. The essential oil from rue is used in perfumery and as a food flavouring[61].

I wasn't that far of base in thinking that it was a Thalictrum, as the common name for Thalictrum is meadow rue and Trautvetteria's common name is tasselrue . In the description 20 of our 55 counties are cited as its home.

The cataplasms from leaves anointed with rue leaves and honey were placed on snake and dog bites, after the blood was squeezed out of the wound.
