Thanksgiving & Christmas Cacti (Schlumbergera truncata & S. x buckleyi): Thanksgiving and Christmas cacti flower anytime between those holidays on 1-to-2 year-old plants. The Christmas cactus has smaller, smooth-edged stems.

Zygocactus Schlumbergera truncata is known in the Southern Hemisphere as the Christmas Cactus. It flowers in pinks and reds, requires bright but not strong sunlight, medium watering with good drainage. Looks wonderful in a hanging basket.
