Seaside goldenrod can be recognized by its fleshy, waxy leaves -- an adaptation to the drying effect of salt spray. Individual flowerheads of seaside goldenrod are larger than those of the typical goldenrod.

 


Seaside goldenrod. (Solidago sempervirens). Flowers every summer in coastal areas and is conspicuous with large bright yellow flower heads. It is the only one of 130 different types of goldenrod to grow in Bermuda.
