Shamrocks are bulbs, and like all bulbs they need a period of dormancy every once in a while. They will need a couple rest periods every year to continue growing their best.

Good Luck Plant is a bulb that resembles a Four-leaf Clover (named after certain sectors of the creeping stems of Trifolium repens, a forage crop also known as White Clover or Shamrock).
Like many species it bears three leaflets, and thus is called a shamrock. Most species are perennial herbs, though some are annual, and others subshrubs. Oxalis is the most important genus in the family OXALIDACEÆ.
Also it was used against leucorrhea, mixed with white sulphurine, white shamrock and peony roots. The boiled lily root was placed on swellings, on infected sores and on the chest of those suffering from cough.
