Silver maples (Acer saccharinum) are big, fast growing trees capable of reaching 80 feet in height with a spread almost equal their height.

LEAVES: Opposite, simple, deeply 5-lobed and coarsely toothed, about 5" wide, bright green above, silvery-white beneath. Fall color is a greenish-yellow.

Silver Maple, Soft Maple
Maple trees include a broad spectrum of types, sizes, shapes and foliage. They are evergreen or deciduous, shrubby or lofty, with deeply lobed or finely cut leaves.

This silver maple which is even more attractive than the species has deeply incised, feathery looking leaves that are light green above and silvery on their undersides.

Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum) - This is the fastest growing of all American maple species (10 to 12 feet in four to five years). It grows 50 to 70 feet tall, 35 to 50 feet wide.
