This is a variety of snow-in-summer that is found growing naturally among rocks in Spain. It makes a pretty mound with shiny, rounded white flowers that are yellow at the petal base.
Snow-in-summer is great for rock gardens and dry areas, and also works well as a container plant. Plant it on a stone wall for a cascading effect. Snow-in-summer needs room to perform. A single plant can carpet an area as wide as a yard across.

Snow mould develops under prolonged snow cover. The combination under snow of a fairly constant temperature of about 0°C (32°F) and increased levels of carbon dioxide are particularly favourable for Monographella nivalis.
Snow in Summer really puts on a display. They are a favorite for rock gardens. Small plants grow just six to eight inches. But, they certainly are attractive.

Snow Princess. A white gladiolus, greenish in bud, which distinguishes itself for size and form. Colour, milky white with tinge of green down the throat. Very strong spike, often 2 ft. in length bearing up to twenty florets.
'Snow Queen' sweet alyssum has an upright form that looks great in container plantings.
Usage

In heavy snow falls it can be subject to a bit of damage as the snow weighs down the rather brittle branches. Just brush or shake the snow off. In any event, any slight damage will soon repair itself, for it is a strong growing shrub.
