Despite the name "water hemlock," this plant is not related to true hemlocks, but rather to poison hemlock (Conium maculatum).
confused with Achillea millefolium include: water parsnip, (swamp parsnip, sium suave) and western water hemlock, (Cicuta douglasii, poison hemlock) and spotted water hemlock (Cicuta maculata, spotted water hemlock, spotted parsley, spotted cowbane).
