This is a semi-weeping, spreading, deciduous tree. Leaves are ovate, often lobed, dark green, up to 3 inches long. Rose pink buds open to double white blooms, followed by yellow fruit.

Star Flower (Ipheion uniflorum): Starflower produces abundant bluish-white flowers on 6- to 8- inch plants. This easy bulb grows in sun or part shade throughout the state. It is excellent for naturalizing and multiplies rapidly.

The only common name I find listed for Pentas is "Egyptian Star Flower", but I've never heard anyone actually call it that.
