Sedums, also called stonecrop, are versatile plants. They grow well in perennial borders, containers, and rock gardens. However, it's their thick, fleshy leaves and colorful blossoms that makes them sought-after additions to any garden.

The fleshy leaves are often reduced to a more or less cylindrical structure, as in the stonecrops (Sedum), or form closely crowded rosettes as in the house-leek (Sempervivum).

There are so many handsome stonecrops in the nursery trade; it is often hard to choose just one.
