Scarlet Swamp Hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus): This southeastern native hibiscus also commonly known as Texas Star.

The plant is usually found growing near water, and so is known as Swamp Hibiscus. It grows on creek banks, on the margins of swamps or in swampy areas in open forest country.
