This vine can climb up to 30 feet high, so the "creeper" label is inaccurate. Hummingbirds feed at the flowers.

Trumpet creeper is a native American vine that, for all its beauty, is not often found in gardens.

The first is Trumpet Creeper (Campsis Radicans). It can grow 30-40 feet in a season, with a trunk several inches across. It's three inch blooms appear in the summer, earlier in the south. Colors range from yellow and yellow orange to red.

Trumpet creeper produces pinnate compound leaves 4-12 in (10.2-30.5 cm) long that cover the vine in a dense cloak of bright green foliage. They are composed of 7-15 oval leaflets that have serrated edges and are 1-4 in (2.5-10.2 cm) long and 0.5-1.
