Water Lily
These aquatic plants are prized for their star-shaped, semi-double flowers which bloom in many colors. Flowers and large leaves float on or rise just above the surface of water. Need full sun to bring out their gorgeous blooms.

Water lily leaves are nearly circular in shape. They are notched to the center. Its leaf lobes are pointed. The leaves arise on stalks from long rhizomes in the mud. Fragrant water lily flowers are showy white and aromatic.

This waterlily has white, double flowers with white sepals flushed pink. It has 6 to 10 inch green leaves with green undersides. Good for small, medium or large pools. Plant height varies with depth of water.

It wouldn't be fall in my garden without the stunning flowers of Colchicum 'Water Lily' pushing its blossoms out of the soil. Often called autumn crocus, colchicums are not true crocus, but members of the lily family-Liliaceae.
