Winged bean is a great curiosity in the vegetable garden if for no other reason than to show it off and tell your friends about its many uses in tropical developing countries.

The entire plant is edible from the roots to the leaves and the seeds. The texture of the bean is similar to a starchy green bean. Goa beans are found in specialty produce markets and are also known as winged beans.
