Woolly thyme is one of my favorite, low-growing ground covers. I especially like how it drapes down my rock walls like a cascading waterfall.
Woolly thyme-the wooliest of all thymes-forms a dense ground-covering mat of tiny, densely hairy leaves. The foliage has barely any fragrance and is unsuitable for culinary use. In summer, tiny pink tubular flowers appear.

Wooly Thymus praecox arcticus 'Languinosus' - Soft and silvery, Woolly Thyme is in a class by itself. Tightly knit, it makes a great filler for in between pavers or along borders.
