Echinacea paradoxa, yellow coneflower, reaches 2½ to 3 feet tall. The name paradoxa comes from the fact that this purple coneflower species has yellow flowers.

The black-eyed Susan and the other rudbeckias are also called yellow coneflowers. The most widely cultivated is the golden glow (R. laciniata hortensia), a tall double-blossomed perennial.
