Yellow elder is an evergreen bushy shrub growing up to 22 feet tall with a light grey bark and bright green pinnate serrated leaves.
It has yellow, trumpet shaped fragrant flowers; they bloom from May to October.

These big, vigorous shrubs make a fine background or screen for warm sunny gardens, with the bonus of fragrant yellow bell-shaped flowers.

Yellow elder has been used for a variety of purposes in herbal medicine. Its primary applications have been in treating diabetes and digestive problems.

Yellow Elder - Hardy in zones 9 through 10. Produces volumes of beautiful yellow flowers during the winter months. May be pruned to a shrub size, if desired.
Colville's Glory Tree - Hardy in zones 10 through 11.
