What is anemia?
Anemia is a common blood disorder that occurs when there are fewer red blood cells than normal, or there is a low concentration of hemoglobin in the blood.

Sickle cell anemia is a condition where red blood cells are sticky and shaped like crescents (sickles) instead of being rounded. These cells contain a different form of hemoglobin, a protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood.
