Anovulatory: Lack of or cessation of ovulation.
Areola: Pigmented or colored ring surrounding the nipple of the breast.
Arrhythmia: Irregular or missed heartbeat.

 


Anovulatory:
When ovulation doesn't occur.
Artifical insemination:
Involves inserting sperm into the female's cervix in order to improve the chances of pregnancy.

Anovulatory (no ovulation) or oligoovulatory (decreased frequency of ovulation) in women with PCOS are usually initially treated with Clomid (clomiphene citrate). The starting dose is 50 mg or 100mg for five days of the menstrual cycle.

Anovulatory Cycle - A menstrual cycle in which ovulation fails to occur. Causes of the disorder include hormonal imbalances, eating disorders, thyroid disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, luteal phase defects or tumors of the ovaries.

Basal Body Temperature, Monophasic: An anovulatory basal body temperature pattern where the temperature remains relatively constant throughout the cycle.

Gonadotropin treatment is "big-gun " therapy, and is usually reserved for difficult anovulatory problems.

Women with a BMI over 27 kg/m2 or those whose body fat levels are 10 to 15 percent above normal may be at increased risk of anovulatory infertility and miscarriage.

Women with PCOS are either oligo ovulatory or anovulatory, meaning that they ovulate less often than normal or not at all. If ovulation does not take place, there is no opportunity for egg-sperm interaction and pregnancy to occur.

Monophasic: An anovulatory BBT pattern where the temperature remains relatively constant throughout the cycle.

For example, the time of day you urinate for the test, whether or not the result line is the same or darker than the test line are a few of the differences. And if you are anovulatory, you may see a surge (positive result) for days.
