Bags of Water

Bags of Water
Another term that refers to the amniotic membranes which contain the amniotic fluid. See amniotic fluid.

There are two bags of water in the pelvis, the other, of course, being the bladder, and its not at all unusual for women to leak urine at some time during pregnancy.

Sometimes labor inductions don't take, but it's too late to send you home, the baby must be born. The most common cause of this is that the bags of waters has been broken, either naturally or via an amniotomy.
