Coitus Interruptus: The male withdraws his penis just before ejaculating. Also called ‘withdrawal’ or ‘pulling out’.

 


Coitus
Intercourse; the sexual union between a man and a woman.
Conception
The fertilisation of an ovum or the act of becoming pregnant.

Coitus - Sexual activity in which the erect penis of a male is inserted into the vagina of a female where climax or orgasm occurs in atleast one participating individual.

Artificial Insemination (AI): The depositing of sperm in the vagina near the cervix or directly into the uterus, with the use of a syringe instead of by coitus.

With a low lying placenta, it is not safe to have coitus, but intimacy can be achieved by other methods too. A repeat scan after 34 weeks will make sure if the placenta is still low lying or not.

(a) Withdrawal method: Coitus interrupts involves the withdrawal of the penis from the vagina just before the ejaculations .This prevents the semen from the entering the women , thus also known as ‘Withdrawal method ’.

A woman's first coitus usually tears the hymen, resulting in a permanent change in the appearance of the hymen. In some women the membrane may be resistant to tearing and a simple, surgical procedure, hymenectomy, may be required.
