How To Choose A Doula
A lot of moms today feel the need to have a doula. Moms want to feel connected with their newborns during childbirth and thus, wanting to minimize and get rid of all unnecessary interventions as much as possible.
You can also hire a doula - a woman who is trained to offer support before, during and after the birth. The name comes from the Greek meaning 'servant' or 'care-giver'.

Doulas, trained companions and other friends or family members top the list. Ideally, make sure your partner or another loved one attends childbirth classes with you, and consider meeting with doulas in your area (find one via icea.org or dona.org).
The Bradley Method relies heavily on the coach or doula. While the coach is generally the husband, it certainly doesn't need to be. The coach is required to attend all 12 classes with the mother, and to be trained in ways to help during the delivery.

Any hospital, clinical, physician, nursing, doula expenses related to the present pregnancy and any postpartum care.
Start to think about lining up the medical professionals that are going to help you through this experience: your gynecologist or OB, doula, midwife or lay midwife.
Childbirth classes are one expense, and class fees vary widely depending on the class and its location. The fees for your doula may be covered by your insurance, but if not, you'll have that cost to consider.
