Hip dysplasia is considered a "multifactorial trait." Multifactorial inheritance means that many factors are involved in causing a birth defect. The factors are usually both genetic and environmental.

 


Cervical dysplasia is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is sexually transmitted and also causes genital warts. This virus produces papillomas, which are small, benign (noncancerous) growths on the cervix.

Hip dysplasia
As mentioned, hip dysplasia is nine times more common in females than males. One of the environmental influences thought to contribute to hip dysplasia is the baby's response to the mothers' hormones during pregnancy.

Cervical Dysplasia - Abnormal changes within the cells of the uterine cervix, which may be detected by a Pap smear. Changes may involve size, shape and/or growth pattern.

Cervical dysplasia is the abnormal growth of cervical cells, usually with no symptoms. It has been linked to a sexually transmitted disease called human papillomavirus (genital warts).

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) - also nown as Chronic Lung Disease, usually requiring ventilator or incubator oxygen.

Common reasons for the use of canine hydrotherapy include pre or post surgical conditioning; dysplasia or arthritis; obesity; cardiovascular workouts for older dogs; stroke reconditioning; and pain management, usually secondary to a joint disease.
