Pregnancy & Parenting EmbryoEmbryo transfer

Embryo Replacement: Introduction of a thawed embryo into a woman's uterus after in vitro fertilization.
Embryo Transfer: Introduction of an embryo into a woman's uterus after in vitro fertilization.

Frozen embryo replacement.
Ferning
A pattern characteristic of dried cervical mucus viewed on a slide. When the fern pattern appears, the mucus has been thinned and prepared by oestrogen for the passage of sperm.

Cycles are canceled for many reasons: there may be too few or too many eggs developing; the uterine lining may not be optimal for embryo replacement; the patient may become ill; or the patient may stop treatment.

Phase 4: Phase four is the actual embryo replacement. This is usually quite straightforward.

With IVF, ‘assisted zona hatching' may also be offered, especially to couples where the woman is 38 years old or more, or for frozen embryo replacements.
