GONADS - The gender-neutral term for the ovaries and testicles.
GYNECOLOGIST - A physician whose specialty is health care for women, especially the treatment of the female reproductive organs.

Gonads
Organs that produce the sex cells and sex hormones; testes in men and ovaries in women .

Gonads: The glands that makes reproductive cells and "sex" hormones: the testicles, which make sperm and testosterone, and the ovaries, which make eggs (ova) and estrogen.

By now, the gonads should have completed their growth into either testes or ovaries. External genitalia appear very similar and are undistinguishable for another few weeks.

The pulsatile GnRH enables the pituitary gland to secrete LH and FSH, which stimulate the gonads. See also FSH; LH; Ovary; Pituitary Gland; Testicle.

The pituitary is located at the base of the brain just below the hypothalamus and it controls hormonal factories throughout the body including the gonads, the adrenal glands, and the thyroid gland.

It worked by turning off the pituitary glands ability to release FSH and LH hormones, which turns off the activity of the gonads. Any body functions depending on the gonad hormones are slowed down.

Laparoscopy of sister 1 revealed bilateral elongated gonads and remnants of uterine tissue. Laparoscopy of sister 2 demonstrated both gonads, but no uterus was identified. INTERVENTION(S): Sister 1: bilateral gonadectomy and hysterectomy.

Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism/Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadal (HH): Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH) is a rare condition in which impaired activity of the hypothalamus or pituitary results in below-normal function of the gonads and in abnormally low ...

Pure gonadal dysgenesis - a female child who has a 46, XY karyotype, underdeveloped gonads, internal female reproductive organs and female external genitalia.

The testicles (also called testes or gonads) are the male sex glands. They are located behind the penis in a pouch of skin called the scrotum.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) -- A pituitary hormone that stimulates the gonads. In the man LH is necessary for spermatogenesis (Sertoli cell function) and for the production of testosterone (Leydig cell function).

up through cow mucus Penis - the male organ of sexual intercourse Pituitary gland - the endocrine gland at the base of the brain that produces the gonadotropin luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone, which in turn stimulate the gonads ...

A pituitary hormone that stimulates the gonads. In the man LH is necessary for spermatogenesis (Sertoli cell function) and for the production of testosterone (Leydig cell function). In the woman LH is necessary for the production of oestrogen.

Gonad - A sexual gland. In males, the testicles are gonads. In females, the ovaries are gonads.
Gonadal Dysgenesis - Defective or deficient development of the ovaries or testes.

testis - one of the pair of male gonads that produce semen; suspended in the scrotum by the spermatic cords.
tunica vaginalis - a thin pouch that holds the testes within the scrotum.

OVARY- The two female gonads containing the eggs. The ovary releases hormones (estrogens, androgens and progesterone among many others) that cause development of secondary sex characteristics and reproductive organs in women.

Apart from the process described above, the hormone ß-hCG will also stimulate the fetal gonads to develop.
It also stimulates the production of testosterone in the fetal testes.
Can be found in increased levels in men with testicular cancer.

Gonads have become testes (for boys) or ovaries (for girls). Baby will move away if touched through the uterine wall, and can spontaneously move as well. Ossification (hardening) of the bones may begin.

Human chorionic gonadotropin: (hCG) A human hormone made by chorionic cells in the fetal part of the placenta . Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is directed at the gonads and stimulates them. Hence, the name "gonadotropin." ...

gland; the gland that is stimulated by the hypothalamus and controls all hormonal functions. Located at the base of the brain just below the hypothalamus, this gland controls many major hormonal factories throughout the body including the gonads, ...

By the time HCG drops at the beginning of the second trimester, the placenta can make sufficient progesterone to maintain the endometrium (uterine lining). HCG also stimulates the development of fetal gonads and the synthesis of androgens (male ...
